As College Director/Principal, Alun Rees oversees all operations at ICP.

He graduated with a first class honours degree in Sports Science and has an MPhil in the area of coronary risk factors. He is currently putting the finishing touches to his MBA dissertation which is investigating the issue of new managerialism and its impact on professional autonomy in Higher Education.

Alun originally trained as an accountant but subsequently worked as a lecturer in sports science at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth, and for the past 9 years, before moving to ICP, headed the Department of Sport & Exercise Science at the University of Portsmouth.

Alun used to play first class rugby with Bristol and Bath but now prefers to hack around the golf course. He is married with 2 children and is looking forward to the new challenges of leading ICP and helping to make it a great success.
